The National Air Tour will arrive and depart from South Bend Regional Airport. Aircraft will be parked near Corporate Wings, phone 574-233-8285. Arrivals and departures may be spread out over a period of up to an hour and a half starting with the approximate times shown.

In the seven years running, from 1925 through 1931, South Bend had never been a stop on the National Air Tour. It was looking like 1932 was to be South Bend's turn. On May 5th, 1932 the "Pathfinder" ship, Stinson Junior left Dearborn and landed at South Bend to inspect the airport and seek local support for a visit from the 1932 National Air Tour.

Flying the Stinson was Lt. Lee Gehlbach, a former airman from Selfridge field, and carrying Ray Cooper and John T. Neville, of the aircraft bureau, Detroit Board of Commerce. According to contemporary accounts, in South Bend they met with
